Everything in the Old Testament points to Jesus in the New.  Passover is the foreshadowing of the atoning work of Jesus on the cross.  The ultimate sacrifice. The blood on the door posts pointing to heaven, man pleading for salvation.  The blood on the cross was heaven pointing to man, offering salvation through Jesus.
