JOIN THE JOURNEY
We will begin our 21 days of prayer and fasting as a family on Sunday March 3rd thru Sunday March 24th. We recognize that there are some of you who have never done a fast before or may not know what to do or why we do it.
In Matthew 6:1-18 Jesus talks about 3 responsibilities for every believer; giving, praying and fasting. As a church, we are setting aside specific time to focus on prayer and fasting together. This is a time where we seek God, His will, wisdom, strength and provision through prayer; and fast from food, media, or other things you feel lead to abstain from.
TYPES OF FASTS
- Full Fast: Drink liquids only
- Daniel Fast: Eat no meat, sweets or bread. Eat only fruits and vegetables
- Partial Fast: Give up a specific food/drink item.
- Media Fast: Give up some type of media activity (social media, news, tv, music)
The goal of a fast is to seek Him wholeheartedly, removing things from our lives for a specific time to draw closer to Him. Pray about it and ask God what you should give up during this time
